Today, we shine the spotlight on a valued member of our team: Ababacar, the designer behind our men’s Qamis Sadikh.
A skilled tailor, Ababacar specializes in menswear but is equally adept at sewing for women and creating embroidery. He has been with us for two years now, and for nearly a year he has managed alterations in our boutique with dedication and precision.
Born in Saint-Louis, Ababacar is a hafiiz — Ma Sha Allah. He learned the Qur’an from his father, and after completing his studies, he turned to tailoring. He spent three years training in a workshop, followed by three more years studying fashion design at the Rives du Savoir center in Yeumbeul. He also completed an advanced training program with @miadreams_brand, who personally recommended him to us.
With his permission, we share a more sensitive aspect of his journey — one that makes his story even more inspiring: Ababacar lives with hemophilia, an incurable blood condition. Yet he has never allowed this to be an excuse not to work. It is, in fact, one of the reasons he did not attend traditional school. Today, he is recognized as a talented tailor and designer, punctual, almost always present, and deeply committed to his craft.
His colleagues affectionately call him BabsChou, and he commands respect from everyone around him. Our greatest wish is that his dream of building a large tailoring enterprise comes true, and we hope to actively contribute to that vision.
May Allah open for him the doors of success and grant him improved health
